ITT Analytics’ AADI and The University of North Carolina partner to monitor oil and gas releases in the Gulf of Mexico and Florida Keys

ATLANTA, GA., April 28, 2011— ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) announced that its AADI brand has teamed up with the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill to develop two new multi-sensor arrays to detect light hydrocarbons and oxygen depletion associated with oil and gas releases such as recent occurrences in the northern Gulf of Mexico. This research is vital to monitor the long-term effects of water contamination and its threat to coral reef and other coastal ecosystems. The multi-sensor arrays, built on AADI’s SEAGUARD platform, have enabled scientists in the University’s Department of Marine Sciences to set new standards for the efficiency of analyses while offering unmatched precision and simple deployment.

The AADI SEAGUARD platform from ITT Analytics is a multi-parameter instrument offering advanced flexibility and real-time capabilities for underwater observation. The first of the new arrays developed from the platform, nicknamed HANDI by the UNC-Chapel Hill scientists, was deployed for testing in 2010 at Conch Reef off Key Largo, Florida. The array assisted the team by effectively detecting oxygen depletion and potential oil and gas transport along the reef ecosystem’s border with fast-moving water in the Florida Straits. Equipped with two of AADI’s fast-response optodes from ITT Analytics, HANDI offers the team immediate and reliable dissolved oxygen measurements without the need for repeated calibrations.

Learn “How to manage communications in Asia” at ABCA Conference

Jacky Cheng from The Scott Partnership's China office is chairman of Asia Business Communications Association (ABCA) – a non-profit organization and a social network of communicators. It runs monthly salons, and occasionally runs training programs, conferences.

As more and more companies have located their Asia-Pacific headquarters in China, we see more communicators are taking Asia-Pacific responsibilities now, but it is also difficult for them to understand different cultures in the wide Asia region. So ABCA is organizing a conference on June 3rd to talk about “How to manage communications in Asia”, with confirmed speakers from key countries across Asia including Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, Vietnam (and TBC one more speaker from Australia/New Zealand). All of the speakers are very senior and very experienced in communication industry and will talk about the difference of running communication programs in their countries/regions. This will be an excellent opportunity for companies to meet with experts from those countries to have first-hand information about the way of running communication programs in Asia.

Celebrating Pittcon 2011 success!

Cheers! The Scott Partnership team enjoyed a glass of champagne together to celebrate yet another successful year at Pittcon, the world’s largest exposition for laboratory science.

After a busy first quarter preparing for the show, it was time to say well done and recognise our achievements. The Scott Partnership supported some of the world’s leading analytical instrumentation companies at Pittcon 2011, organising media activity including press conferences, media dinners with company executives and editor meetings on booth.

Attending Pittcon myself for the first time this year, it was great to see full press conference rooms and successful meetings between our clients and key industry journalists. Although not everyone in the TSP team was present in Atlanta, it really was a team effort this year with months of meticulous planning, phone calls and editor liaison.

As we raised our glasses in the office a toast was made to a successful Pittcon 2012…grab your sunglasses, we’re going to Orlando!

We’ll see you there,
Lindsay

The Scott Partnership Appointed by Greenphire, Leading Provider of Clinical Payment and Technology Solutions

Cheshire, UK (April 20, 2011) - Global life sciences and technology strategic communications agency The Scott Partnership, announces that it has been appointed by Pennsylvania-based Greenphire to lead a PR campaign aimed at raising company and brand awareness. Since being founded in 2007, Greenphire's clinical payment and communication technologies have been adopted by over 100 unique clients throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. This latest addition to The Scott Partnership's portfolio is a further step in the company's ongoing expansion, strengthening its customer base and presence in the clinical studies market.

Patients participating in clinical trials have traditionally been reimbursed for their time and expenses by paper check. This is not an efficient payment method as checks are both time- and cost-intensive to administer, and in addition can be costly for the patient as approximately 60 million Americans are currently living without a bank account. In response, Greenphire have introduced an auditable card payment and communication system called the ClinCard solution which allows the study participants to be reimbursed in real-time through a reloadable debit card. The ClinCard is coupled with protocol, appointment and financial communication custom tailored to the study, resulting in benefits of increased subject retention and protocol compliance. The ClinCard solution is currently utilized by over 35 Sponsor companies and across over 1,000 studies at present. The Scott Partnership will undertake a PR campaign that further raises the profile of the company within the clinical industry.
